SHARP

Make no mistake: this project for the Sharp family had all the hallmarks of a bold and exciting transformation. Orchard were approached to replace the entirety of the existing kitchen, and install new flooring to accompany the new-look space. 

The overhaul started with removal of the kitchen’s uniform cream outers, and we fully stripped the light-green paint from the walls around it. In their place, we installed ultra-contemporary drawers and cupboards, with recessed handles that give a flush, minimalist feel to the room. The Indigo Blue colour was a subtle and smart selection. 

 All the worktops are now a brighter marble-effect verona quartz — easily cleanable and scratch-resistant. Appliances are Neff, with the flat wall extractor particularly stylish and distinctive; a small ledge on which to sit a cookbook, a handy feature.  

The floor is the stunning Argento, Karndean tile. It’s 3mm design strip imitates grout, adding a layer of tradition without the build-up of dirt to worry about.

Amongst the finishing touches we have a wine cooling space beneath and opposite the island, a plush Belfast sink of glazed white porcelain, a signature clock above a sleek recess storage unit, and modernistic pendant lights from the centre of the room. Orchard were fully responsible for the design, installation and decorating of the new Sharp kitchen, which is now as suited to winter warmers as it is a bustling summer party.
