“This is our second kitchen from Orchard. We chose to use them again following the failure of an old hot water pipe under the floor and flood in our kitchen, involving a full insurance rip-out and re-install. I can’t recommend Orchard highly enough; Gideon was absolutely brilliant in balancing the limited available insurance budget against the inevitably competing factors of cost, space, specification and design. Gideon’s product knowledge, vast experience and design flair is invaluable here. If you were thinking that this doesn’t really matter and you can just pick stuff out from a warehouse or a catalogue with maybe a bit of guidance from someone with ten minutes training on a CAD design programme, you would be quite wrong. You might pay the same or more and get a lesser result if you do.

Our ideas and priorities were listened to in detail and then incorporated into a design, drawing on Gideon’s encyclopaedic design and product knowledge. No; our firm design ideas for a U shape were not the best – for good reasons we had not appreciated, so Gideon’s island design was the right choice. Yes, the reflective plinths suggested by Gideon were utterly brilliant, despite my doubts.

The end result was an even better kitchen than we had before (and that was very nice, with no plans to replace it prior to the appearance of a hot spring under the kitchen floor). On a value-for-money basis, the design and result of the new kitchen is great in itself. But what really amazes me is Orchard’s attention to detail. You get very pleasant, attentive customer service, before, during and after installation. That matters. It’s a rare kitchen where no snagging is required – so if you want to guarantee perfect follow up to get those little niggles made perfect, I would recommend Orchard on that count alone.

But it’s generally a perfect job from the off: Orchard use reliable, brilliant fitters they have worked with for a long time. They have the skills and are empowered to make any last minute flexibility a breeze – you want that small change; they will make it without a fuss and will even point out minor tweaks you might now like, but didn’t think of. Rather than me bang on about the quality of fitting, I’ll quote our decorator who painted out the kitchen after it was all done; “F78& me! I have never seen scribing in quite like this. It’s as near to flawless as you will ever see.”

So, if you want something totally stand-out, designed brilliantly, to meet your budget, installed perfectly and with absolutely reliable follow-up service, you will not go wrong with Orchard.”
